10 Best Ryokan with Private Onsen in Osaka | 2023

Updated: Feb 21

Are you worried that Japan's public onsen (hot springs) bans people with tattoos from entering? I was also concerned since people always mentioned that people with tattoos could not go into public onsens or baths in Japan. But I realized that Japan had loosened up that rule since many more foreigners were traveling to Japan. However, you should still be aware that some ryokan, onsen, or public baths still follow that rule.

If you are still a little hesitant and unsure if the ryokan or hotel you are booking has a tattoo-friendly onsen, then book a room with a private room and onsen instead!

If you want to find traditional ryokan with private onsen near Osaka, it would mostly be outside of Osaka in the rural area. But if you prefer to stay within or near Osaka, these are the best ryokans and hotels in Osaka with private onsen.

Having a private bath or onsen is such a luxurious add-on to your trip. As a Broke-Bougie traveler, this is when I will splurge a couple of extra bucks on my hotel. ✌︎ 💸

My top 3 favorite hotels ⭐️
